Well, the human population numbers have growth insanely during the recent years too, as has technology. We have invented so much more within the last 100 years, despite patents (or because of patents), that they must have done something right.

Personally, and for many others, the constant feeling of grinding did it. RIFT is a much more fun game, it has a lot of variety and you get to the fun stuff right from the beginning. EVE Online has a huge interesting world where everything goes, and is tailored much more towards PVP. World of Warcraft is just too much about PVE and grinding that environment, which really isn't that fun, especially considering it's an MMO. Even withholding the MMO games, there are so many absolutely fantastic games coming out now and in the recent years that I'm not surprised people feel bored with WoW. It's only going to be worse for WoW, with Battlefield 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and many more fantastic coming out really soon.

Both Apple and Microsoft are already in patent lawsuits with Motorola. Google has tried to get some smartphone patent portfolio for themselves too, but they just burned $12.5 billion on patents that
    1) don't help them at all against Apple and Microsoft
    2) alienates other Android manufacturers

But there isn't much Google can do. People act weirdly and make mistakes when they're surrounded and desperate. Google made their mistake here.

Microsoft is a convicted monopoly, Google is not.

I'm fairly sure both Firefox and Chrome are the safest browsers out there, especially if you use Adblock and NoScript. GOOG has done a remarkable job in making their browser as secure as it can be, with autoupdating, sandboxing and different processes for tabs. They also bundle their own fixed Flash version that updates itself automatically. Microsoft should stop paying for these fake studies.

That's why we need more companies like Google. Companies that are willing to take patent trolls and other bad companies to court for the common good. Google is probably the only company that fights against patents, copyright and other evil things for the greater good.

And since its just current generation, 2% is just laughable. Google has done remarkable job with Android and we should praise them for it. Seriously, if it wasn't for Google all we had was iPhone or Windows Phone.
