The point being missed is that Stallman believe this for ALL software, not just GPL'ed.... GPL is fine - people who have chosen it have already made up their mind. But others are whining over other people's choices..."Oh, but he didn't use a licence which suited *MY* purposes!"

I think that is a bit overgeneral, judging by the number of comments defending their decision to patent/whateverthehellthey like their software.
"I believe it, therefore the world does" isn't a valid argument
