If they are unhappy with the rpm instalation system, why keep insisting on being redhat based?
They have ported apt. Now what? Will they convert all the.deb packages to.rpm packages?
It's easier to be Debian based. That's my point.

.src.rpm? Debian has.dsc files. The exact same thing.
This can be an innovation, but it won't work. The dependecies problems won't be solved (there aren't that many rpm packages, you know). Just compare the number of packages of the two distributions, and you'll see that there will be lots of dependencies problems in rpm.
Just take a look at http://www.olinux.com.br/introducao
I heard in the Debian-br lists (http://debian-br.sourceforge.net) that they have said they invented apt, during their Conectiva Linux 6.0 launch.

I'm not against them. But they are simply reinventing the wheel. Debian already had apt and it works great.
Conectiva is just insisting on being redhat based, but wanting to be (?) Debian based.

It won't work as flawless as Debian, just because there isn't many rpm packages as there is deb packages.
The thing is, Conectiva is saying that they invented apt. And by doing so, they are illuding their users (mostly from Brazil, because they are a Brazilian company). And their distro is not that good either (it's actually redhat with different instalation).
Imagine Sonic and Mario games on the same console? It's impossible not to buy it if you are a videogame fan. It's a big thing for Nintendo either, as they don't have many good games avaiable for their systems.
Mario getting rings? Sonic getting coins? Can't wait to see.

Have you ever tried the Debian GNU/Linux?
Look for GNOME-APT. Then you could say something about installing software on GNU/Linux.
