This should be obvious, you vote to further your
own interests and view of things, not to make some
politician happy. So, pick the one that comes
closest even if you think they are a jerk.
It is an unfortunate side effect making them happy
but there are ways to reduce that effect later,
write letters to the paper, go to meetings a lot,
make their next few years miserable unless they
do your bidding.
