"Would NASA entertain a one-way policy for human Mars exploration? Probably not. But other, more adventurous space agencies in Europe or Asia might. The next giant leap for mankind won't come without risk."
My question is would a company or group of companies be willing to foot the bill for a one-way trip in exchange for exclusive broadcast rights and ad space? This seems like a "no-brainer" for the current reality TV mindset.
a) the asteroid had not hit, or b) the dinosaurs had survived
would we even be here to have this discussion? We ASSUME that we are better (perhaps even the pinnacle of evolution), but who is to say for certain that if we were annihilated by a "global killer" asteroid that something better would not happen on the next evolution of the species on this planet?
Actually, yes. I have a USB stick that works out of the box on SuSE 8.2. The REALLY neat thing is that I got the stick from MS (it even has the Micro$oft logo on it) as a "thank you" for attending one of their free seminars.
And if they do go after it NOW, will dontod(571749) get paid by MS for bringing it to their attention?
