By watching the race between human impact on global warming and human impact on fossil fuel reserves the latter is probably more worrisome.
The the cure for both is more or less the same, consume less fossil fuel and develop renewable energy sources.
If depleting fossil fuel reserves news were to be mentioned in mainstream media as much as human impact global warming news, it would probably be disastrous for our economy sending oil prices spiking.
So in the end exaggerated reports about human impact global warming will probably saves us from the more immediate problem of fossil fuel depletion before alternatives are in place.
