My new 42" Panasonic Viera has Netflix, Facebook, DLNA, Pandora, and several other apps. It also has an ATSC OTA receiver. What about Sony's Google TV? I hope Sony Entertainment isn't one of the companies bitching about what a TV is.
Ha! I kind of agree with that, it is hard to read some jerk's posts about where he is, or how far he ran today, etc. without thinking - wow, this asshole must actually think this will be important to someone...
Given that he is your "Friend" because you did choose to friend him and he's a jerk you must have known that before you friended him. If it's that annoying it's completely in your control. Either hide his posts or unfriend him. If you need help with that I'm sure there are neighborhood children who can help you.
As I stated previously, there are people I frantically looked for using every medium you mention and more short of hiring a PI to find them. They weren't there. Not on Google, not in the phone look-up/book, not anywhere I looked. Yet on a lark I would look them up on Facebook and there they were. As far as her not wanting us to call haven't you ever felt like being alone but still really needed to know you had friends close by. How many times have you been at a funeral and tried to talk to the bereaved? It was awkward as hell because there is NOTHING you can say that will make them feel better as much as you want it to! Each person will process the loss differently and the ability to leave words of encouragement that they can access when they are ready is nice to have. You don't like Facebook...that's fine I find it useful and so do millions of other people. I'd apologize for not towing the/. line when it comes to Facebook but I prefer to make my own decisions.
Must be nice not having any feelings whatsoever. As it happens she has all of those things but chose Facebook. I wasn't going to tell her what to use in one of her darkest hours and as I said I haven't regretted it.
I had the same disdain for social networking as most of the/. crowd until a very close friend who had moved far away lost her husband and requested that her friends join Facebook so she could correspond with us. I gladly created an account and was able to "be there" for her even though I couldn't actually be there. What I found after joining was that people I had lost touch with and had tried to find using every other method I could think of were there as well. I quickly reconnected and renewed relationships that had been lost for years. I still think most of it is of questionable value but its social aspect is very much real.
This potential baldness cure is right up there with the attempt to control blood pressure and the subsequent discovery of VIAGRA. Let's cure a deadly disease turns into let's make Meeellions!!
While you are indeed correct I think the whoosh comment above is more fitting. Fortunately my cards thus far have been untainted. I will however be watching them like a hawk for the foreseeable future.
I just checked and somebody used my CITI card to buy several new large screen TVs and all sorts of electronic equipment. Guess I'll have to call this in....
Have you ever been on the streets of downtown Miami? (not Miami beach which I learned the hard way is a different city separated from Miami by a BIIIIG bridge) Those Mongol hordes are gonna get a beat down.
Yes, I remember those days well. I also remember Windows 95 doing all those things all by itself. Not even running any programs. Not to mention the lengths Microsoft went to make sure competing products were at a disadvantage.
Actually I believe Apple paid Microsoft to co-develop the MAC GUI and the contract specifically forbade Microsoft from developing a GUI for any other platform. Microsoft ignored the clause and a multi-year lawsuit ensued.
They aren't inactive. They are carefully watching all the players and when one emerges that has awesome written on it they will swoop down and buy that company post haste, slap an MS logo on it and profit.
Such a device would also have full Exchange support without having to have fscking BES. That would be amazing.
That would be amazingly awful. There is a reason companies go with RIM's solution and it has everything to do with the BB/BES (client/server). For starters it is so secure not even your companies IT department or RIM itself can easily intercept data (They can still get to it easily on the Exchange server). Add to that the near bulletproof reliability (yes there have been notable exceptions and they are so noted) compared to Activesync (goes down at least once a month here) and the fact I frequently get emails on my BB BEFORE I get it in Outlook (Good luck with that on Activesync).
You've been able to load apps of all sorts from virtually any source on BB for years -- why would this change on the PB?
Well RIM has to adapt to the new business model that Apple has made so successful. Blackberry has had apps for at least ten years but it was difficult to find certain apps because each ISV had to market their software individually. Hanadango (founded in 1999) capitalized on that problem starting in 2003 for the Symbian platform and adding new platforms as they materialized.
Add to that the fact that the PlayBook is running QNX and not legacy BB OS and it's not hard to see them making it difficult to install or sideload apps.

No two people have an identical opinion in ride quality, and none have the ability (as far as I know) to quantify improvement.
Because if everyone could GM would never be able to sell any Chevrolet vehicles. Look! A car analogy AND flaimbait in the same post.
I wish I had thought to patent this idea when I had...when I was ten years old. *sigh*
I switched to Jolicloud and haven't looked back

I wish that was a joke but it evidently isn't. :(

Does it work with the newer HomeRun Dual? At $129.00 it is very tempting.

Have tried Square?
It's clear you are not aware of the primary reason most companies use BES. If you are interested here are some links that should be enlightening.

Unsurprisingly Apple did sue Microsoft. Not that it did them any good.
Or maybe Intel is more worried about the new ARMs race.
