Maybe if he hadn't gotten lawsuit happy, I'd still have an ounce of sympathy for him. As it stands, I couldn't care less about poor little Star Wars Kid's hurt feelings. If acting like a retard made one eligible for a Star Wars cameo, I'd be popping up the the background of nearly every scene.
Good graphics doesn't mean poor gameplay. Examples: Half-Life, Planescape: Torment (much better than Baldur's Gate IMHO), The Sims. These are games from different genres that have depth and are a lot of fun. There's a reason there's no ASCII-based games on the shelves of the local computer game store: because nobody wants to play them except for people who still think that programming in BASIC is l33t.
When Metal Gear Solid 2 and/or Final Fantasy X comes out for the Playstation 2, then I will buy one. Until then, I'll let other people wade through the mediocre first-generation games and half-assed ports of PC games.
What's ironic is that Nintendo is marketing their new Zelda game for the N64 as something to play when you can't get ahold of the ridiculously hard to find PS2. I seem to remember a recent X-Mas season where the first Zelda N64 game had a similar availability problem, though, so perhaps Nintendo should lay off that angle before other people remember, too.
Would Zelda 64 have really have been all that popular if it hadn't been so hard to get ahold of? Hmmm... You've got to love those marketing departments.
