Anyway, the problem with all this is that as much as management theories de jour
protect us from the idiot programmer, they kill the good programmer.
If it wasnt for rogue programmers following their own star in their basement, there
wouldnt be any software to speak of today and IT would be busing trays in the
cafeteria.
You should be thankful to the corrupting effects of a company size/wealth and (large) teamwork on the individual creativity and motivation. Without these effects the little guy in the basement would never have a chance.
