The reason you can buy all the other stuff so cheap is because they use 27Mhz cordless technology. While this is good for price, it is awful for interference and performance. Intel uses 900Mhz Spread Spectrum Digital hoping RF. This is a higher standard of RF technology so your going to pay a little more. Also, the base station will support up to 8 devices giving it unprecedented expandability and scalability. Currently, with the Logitech design, you can have a keyboard and/or a mouse and that's it. Keep your eye on the horizon for more wireless products from Intel to complete the family.

Peripherals are very price sensitive so that's why you didn't see Bluetooth support out of the shoot. There are teams of people looking into this now.
