Is striking...I honestly didn't know what to think of this creation from Apple's labs when I saw the little pictures online, but having seen the thing in action during the keynote, I have to say that yes, I do want one. Too bad I'll have to pay off my TiBook first :P

Some nice little jabs at Adobe and Time magazine sprinkled in, too...fun. Photoshop X does look nice, though, and I'm dling iPhoto as I write this. It looks sweet enough to make me want to get a camera.

Oh, and all those wondering about the Pro Line...I doubt anyone'd bet against new Powermacs at MW Tokyo this March, and unlike what was predicted for this show, I imagine that those really will have the G5.

Exactly, and so is the GMU Grad who first came from Novisibirsk- he just happens to be making a lot of money on it, too :)

The Russians win individually with better salaries and collectively, as the success of this firm will encourage more foreign investment, driving up salaries. Eventually they'll be on par with those of Americans, at which time the U.S. coders will stop bitching.

They do, actually, but the European-manufactured Ford "Ka" is far more popular (and better-looking, too. I wish they had them in the US)

    Correct.

Umm...I was in Bratislava not long ago and, though I didn't try, I highly doubt that anyone there would have traded me a car for a pair of jeans (not even a Lada [Russian], definately not a Skoda [Czech].)

Prague is considerably better off than Bratislava, as well.

Nah, man, that thing is HUGE, there'll be some pretty big pices left, especially if it all deorbits in one piece, as it looks like it will if nobody goes up to close it out.

There are electrical conduits and ventilation tubing going through ALL intermodule hatchways, so there would definately need to be a person prepping the ship for descent, a remote controller couldn't just pop modules off by themself.

I'd sure like to see it happen...I wonder if any cruise lines would be interested? :)

I am overjoyed that this development has come about. Aqua is wonderful, but I really like some of the features of XFree running on Darwin and was frustrated that VNC was the only way to use them simultaneously without spending money.

If technology like this can be integrated into the next (or even the first? Steve?) release of OSX, the implications for developers and users alike would be incredible.I aggree that this OS is going to do great things for Apple- maybe we Mac users combined with the open source community can finally toss that sledgehammer!

Ok, so maybe that last comment was a bit idealistic, but seriously, I feel like it's 1984 all over again (though, to be fair, I was 3 yrs. old at the time :) )
