I personally stopped using the floppy disk as soon as I got some webspace. Now I just upload my homework using ftp to my webspace and download it at school and then if I modify it at school I upload to my webspace again. This way it's cheap and accessible from everywhere.
You could either use that or use one of the disk space sites online, like XDrive or FreeDiskSpace (http://www.freediskspace.com) There's less chances of errors and you don't have to worry about breaking the thing if you sit down.
