  1. Drunk Driving on Remote Breathalyzer · · Score: 1

I have always wondered about "Do not drink and drive". If you drink at all, is there a guarantee that you will be wise enough not to drive afterwards? To me, staying away from alcohol completely is a much better solution. You will be a lot healthier, and you will not do the stupid things that people do when they are drunk. When you are drunk you are not quite yourself, and yet you are still legally responsible for your actions. There exist a lot of ways to entertain yourself without losing your dignity through alcohol.

We are very open to the patches and quite often include them into the code. However, more often than not, we end up having to re-write most of the patch to make it more compliant with the general server design and to fix bugs. Client patches usually go in either unmodified or with a small fix-up, but the learning curve for the server code is much steeper, so it is very difficult for an outsider to produce code that can go in without modifications.

  3. MySQL Support on Open Source Database Underdogs · · Score: 1
We do not offer a true 24x7 phone support, but we get close - most support requests are answered in a couple of hours and you are talking to the developer in charge of the code in question. Many of our customers have commented that the quality of our support is much higher than what they have ever seen from commercial vendors. For more info on our support options, see https://order.mysql.com/

What do you mean, MySQL has no staff to speak of?
We do - I am part of it, and this is my full-time job. We spend quite a bit of
time answering questions and fixing up systems of
our customers in addition to developement.
