  1. Exchange is a nightmare in an enterprise system. on When Is Exchange Inappropriate For The Enterprise? · · Score: 1

I was working IT Support at a major automotive manufacturers WHQ when they decided to switch over from they're older and imposibly stable profs mail system (propriatry IBM Mainframe mailsystem) to Exchange/Outlook and it was a nightmare.
The Exchange servers couldn't handle the load of more then about 1000 people at anytime (even though the specs for it say otherwise) and it wasn't like it was a hardware problem, it was fine. The application never failed to crash/lock/quit responding at about the 1500 user mark those. at least one of those servers went down every week in the beginning until they trippled the number servers to handle the load. (running it far under Microsofts Specified User Limits)
This was on a NT4 /servicepack 4 or 5 on a then top of the line Dell Poweredges and IBM NetFinity Servers.

Its posible that with Win2k and the new version of exchange this problem might have changed, but Sticking with your current setup is the best bet.

Take my word on it, if you switch to exchange most likly your going to regret it.

  3. Other states used that ballot style to. on Statistics, Elections, Frustration · · Score: 1

I heard from ABC politics guy George Stephonopouls(!Snupholupigus?) that that same ballot style was used in other states as well as Florida, and those states havent reported nearly the problems that Florida has. I wonder if that has more to do with the amount of seniors in florida or that the other states didn't have a close enough race to bother reporting/contesting it. Can anyone verify this for me? (i.e. what if any states used similar ballots and what the results there were) ...

"$5.00 a month might be worth it for the privledge of downloading all the music I want" There is only one problem with that line of thought. The only music they are going to be able to sell is music they own or liscence the rights to (otherwise its still piracy). I can already see each of the major label corp groups trying to start or otherwise aquire something similar to nabster for themselves. (they don't really play well with others) I doubt nabster will even be carrying music from anyone but TimeWarner or its subsidiary labels, and at that it may only be released singles or new and relativly unheard of new bands that the label is trying to push. While it may carry a significant amount of music, its probably not going to be what people expect. lastly, even if they do carry music that you're going to want I can't see a way for them to allow unlimited downloads with out taking a significant kick in arse financily compared to other forms of media.($5 unlimited d/l's over a $12-20 cd?) especialy if they carry liscenced music from other companies. It might end up being a pay for play type system as exists in radio. Either way the chips fall, I wouldn't trust the Bertelsmann(burgermiester) head Thomas Middlehoff any farther then i can throw him, uphill, in to the wind... the guy is a shark of the highest order. "You have a generation that's smart and rich and one that's stupid and poor but delivering the real profit," - Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Middlehoff on the 25 to 30 something generation as quoted in a usa today article. http://www.usatoday.com/life/cyber/tech/review/crg 608.htm

what, and give a printable copy of his answers and policies to a group of people that actually have the resources and abilty to check his 'facts' (and I use this term loosly). The man is so full of Hot Air he probably floats between campaign stops. I'm not saying that Bush is completly honest either, he is after all a politician and by that very nature a liar, but at least Bush keeps his half-truths a little more low key. Gore doesn't seem to even care if you know he is lying while he is talking to you.

  6. Re:List of Government Approved Religions on More Candidate Answers - Bush and Hagelin · · Score: 1

I think we're lucky he even answered the question at all. Religion is such a touchy issue for a presidential candidate, especially with the race as close as it is. I'm sure he(or his aide?) doesn't want to alianate any potential voters due to a misinterpreted sentence. IMHO just saying he supports your amendment rights to choose and practice any belief system you want makes me happy.
