didnt think they would do all the work involved in building a wireless network for nothing eh? I would almost think that was part of thier launch plan no? use millions from venture capital, file for bankrupcy and then have a older parent like At&t or earthlink by the remains, It appears that isps have grown smarter in the failing economy.
Its just nice to know all of us peons in the world are allowed wireless too, god knows our underground sections of the governemt have had wireless networks since the 60's, not to mention satelites, and no iam not talking about echelon, which might as well be a smashed up cars put in space to act as a gapers block (bravo you got the idea). truth is a hard thing to cover with security. even kurt cobain knew that one.

I unforunatly am not blessed with depression. but perhaps rather knowledge. knowledge is power and ignorance is bliss so they say right? there are always choices, make them well i suppose. The information is out there and the big picture comes more into focus daily, soon enough we will be able to see on our own what we have denied for so long. not a rant, just a prediction.

I remember the membrane keyboard mine had, was pretty hard to type on but i really only used it for some BBSing and games, I used my commodore for all the programing, I remember being the only kid i knew with a VIC-20 all the other kids eaither had like a nintendo or a c64, i remember being able to pick up VIC-20 stuff cheap as early as like '85 heh talk about mowing alot of lawns though.. you litterally had to, to buy computer disks and software. (perhaps thats where the bbsing came in handy) I didnt run a bbs though untill i had gotten a Apple][e and i ran it along side my 486 at the time.. it only had 2 modems and twin floppies (yep no harddrive.) heh the original VAXbbs, eh i love old computers, they were always more exiting to me, new computers these days (with the exception of handhelds and laptops) seem to have not changed much in 10 years, sure they have gotten speed upgrades every 6 months but nothing like major has changed the face of them. I must admit being able to buy those emachines so cheap was a treat for all of us broke ass computer geeks heh. kinda sucked for those of us who had always made them ourselfs and for our friends (that was how i made money for awhile too) figures compaq, dell, dont forget packard bell notorious for crap, and later Emachines, heh all the cheapie clones, but i gladly saved them from the curb, heh

dont forget the Sinclair puters. I had one of those back in the 80s had a 300 baud for it and stuff, i can remember playing hobbit on it and thinking how cool it was, I always favored my commie more but its a shame to see Zilog go down like that, if it werent for him i would almost say that personal computers wouldnt have been feasable till much later (and we might have never adopted the idea if it werent for him)
i know i for one will miss having an alternative to mainstream computing

As did I, I guess i jumped on too early or something, I had a VIC-20 that i picked up rather cheap after the 64 came out, it was fine for me and i had a 16k ram expansion (to expland the whole 3k it had haha) can you belive what we could do with a mere 3k it was increadible, especially the games, i still play Jupiter Lander and Impossible Mission, heh i loved those games. I also remember at one time taking that 16k cart apart and "piggy-backing" chips from another 16k ram expansion module, i think i got the idea and instructions from a commodore mag i was getting at the time. I also remember things like the super cpus for them that would increase them to what 30mhz or something, and dont forget the Bus hack so you could use a 56k external modem at full speed.. heh my favorite thing about commodores was GEOS though, geOS was the shit! heh my first gui i ever had. god a gui running in mere k, they could have showed ms a thing or two eh?

Hey iam just suprised they finally launched, nasa's operating plan is usually better late than never, at least somethings happening sure beats having bush spend 99.9% of the budget on bombs to blow those "evil" afgani crippled orphans to tiny bits, have you guys not heard about that yet? the did a bombing raid on a makeshift hospital containing crippled orphans but remember it was "by accident" yea just like they accidentally crashed planes into the WTC right right? all these accidents occuring i dont know how we get anything done.. heh but anyway back to space, something the human race as a whole should unite to explore rather that fight over the control of it.. Some day our goverment will realize how bad we are destroying this planet and then perhaps NASA will get a good budget (although anyone besides me notice that nasa will pay 2 million bucks for a off the shelf part and have it "contracted" by someone else? heh that cant be a very effective way of getting the most out of thier ever decreasing budget.. Aye wishful thinking i suppose..
