Well copying is OK if you own an original CD. If you do, you may create copies for personal use. You may even give one or two copies of the original recording to friends of yours - as long as you don't sell them or produce large ammounts of burned CDs. The same thing goes for MP3s or videotapes. Here in germany the price for every CD or CD-R (or blank tape) includes a fee that is given to an organization called "GEMA". GEMA then splits up the proceeds sdo that every artist recieves his share of the media sold through GEMA.
