  1. Re:WHERES THE CAT ??? on CIA & KGB Gadgets On Display · · Score: 1
Here's the cat. My favorite bit:
"The tail was used as an antenna. They made a monstrosity. They tested him and tested him. They found he would walk off the job when he got hungry, so they put another wire in to override that."

    (Death by taxi came afterward)

  2. They missed something that big for so long? on Huge New Galaxy Cluster Found · · Score: 1

Stunned, foolish-looking astronomers looking out window, with dazzling monster cluster spanning half the night sky:

"Well, I guess it had to eventually occur to one of us to try looking behind the house."

  3. it's a joke, duh on Sequel To 'Ender's Shadow': ' Shadow Of The Hegemon' · · Score: 1

and a damned funny one, but way over the heads of this crowd apparently, seeing that it was even marked down to 0..

Ok, I don't have the entire R.A.W. library on hand (but I have most of the better books), but didn't he point out sometime in the last decade that we DO have (almost) light-speed travel, if you count telepresence? (I realize I'm mixing two separate points of your post, and all the limitations of current telepresence) Also, and this is nearly totally O/T: Please, SOMEONE say something about the C+/speed particle travel that was recorded back in June in some US lab. (If NO one knows I'm sure I can find a reference by asking all the friends to whom I gave a printed copy of the article about it at the time.) Precisely, some specific particle was recorded as having passed some detector immediately *before* it was launched (I think). hey, flame me all you want, I'm in sales :) but would really like an answer to this
