It is unfortunate but you do not have a legal course to take action against censorware since you use the school resource. Furtermore this action may be part of a licence that the board has agreed to (remember again that this resource belongs to them). What you can do is boycott the resource but I doubt that that will be effective enough or, get the software out of the school. You have stated that porn gets past and legit sites are blocked. 1. Document the sites that get passed and the sites that are blocked 2. Notify the board about this. 3. PESTER THE BOARD TO REMOVE THE PRODUCT. note, a unified voice speaks loud so get a petition and or a comittee to remove this censorware. The board can take action if they can demonstrate that this company violated a contract or there product did not work as promised. last thing, get used to the idea that if you are going to used someone elses resources such as a computer and a connection that they have the right to limit what you do with their stuff. So this censorware will be replaced if the board pulls the current one . So why don`t you help by recomending the cyberware you prefer and help the board make its decision (be prepared to demonstrate why).
