The implication is that our government that goes to such lengths as to allow the Church of Scientology to exist as a tax exempt religious organisation, throw this guy in prison. I realise its an ad hominum attack, but its also like being kicked out of the KKK for being a bigot.
Basicaly you file a DMCA Counter-claim which states that under penalty of pergy you believe the material was identified as infringing by "mistake" and you identify yourself completely enough so that the original complaintant can sue you if it wasn't a mistake. How to Report Counter-Claim of Infringement goes into more detail, you might want to talk to a lawyer first too.
when I said Changing the license was really bad form i was refering to sliding in the new license by putting the notice in a little tiny link at the bottom of the page where it might seem the placement was to be specifically unnoticed as it applied to new content added. The site seems to have applied the new license to the old material that was licensed CC NC-SA which is clearly a no-no and illegal.
Since making the first post and this one I did look more fully at the site in question and didn't see anything blatantly commercial so hopefully this will be much ado over nothing, rather than slowly creeping into illegal territory gradually
You do realise that the greenhouse effect has never been demonstrated to exist and that the greenhouse effect is the primary premise of the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis? It's been demonstrated that not even a greenhouses works by the greenhouse effect i.e. they do not "trap" heat via a spectral absorbtion mechanism and this was proven through scientific experiments by Woods in 1909; a greenhouse gains heat by eliminating convection losses which is nonsensical in planetary atmospheres.
This doesn't mean that anthropogenic global warming is or isn't occurring it just means the "science" behind it is questionable and few are asking the questions.
So do you need a license to practice homeopathy or can anyone do it? I bet there is a lot of money to be made selling dead space alien cures to actors in Hollywood. LRH had it wrong the real money is in homeopathy not scientology I bet a 1000C dilution of volcanic pumice in alcohol would send those pesky thetans away!
I guess that means if you get a NRI all your homeoapathy remedies poop out! Aligning all of the hydrogen nucleuses in one direction and nutating them with a RF signal would surely erase any "vibrations" and "water memory" present in the Rx. Maybe that's why when people get lost in the woods they walk in circles with the center on their left.
It would seem that if one AP, Acupuncturist, prescribbed the insertion point to another AP who physically preformed the proceedure without knowing what the patients presenting complaint was then it would be possible to have a double blind study by one group recieving Tx (treatment) designed to heal while the other group would recieve Tx designed to not Tx the condition. This way neither the patient nor the AP physically preforming the Tx would know which group was which and acchieving a double-blind method.

if you wanted to market sugar pills as an FDA approved drug, your drug monograph would be as bleak as that of any other drug with regard to side effects. Carefull now the FDA is going to have to regulate sugar, or San Francico is going to ban it's sale or possesion in the city like they did with that dangerous chemical Dihydrogen monoxide!
Here's the rub, much of the original content was issues under CC NC-SA but the site is now licensed GFDL 1.2, which specifically allows commercial usage, but the content is specifically disallowing commercial usage. Changing the license was really bad form, but assuming that any new content added by a contributer under the GFDL would change their previous CC NC-SA licensed property was naive and using the content commercially probably illegal.
The definiton of commercial is pretty vague at times, probably to keep lawyers in bussiness, but now site seems to be driven primarily by a profit motive, unlike the orgininal where the revenues were intended to offset expenses, so the first site was in a gray area, but the second is probably over the line. The poster should talk to a lawyer, maybe the EFF or legal aid would be interested.
The torque charecteristics of an electric motor makes it easily preform like a much bigger gasoline IC engine; I did under-estimate the amount of HP necessary but you over-estimated some. 248 HP electrics behave like muscle cars, and I once owned a VW mini-motor home with a 1600 cc engine.
The jerk is necessary, a freight train takes to much power to move from a standstill for any locomotive. The couplings between the cars are designed with some slack so the locomotive only has to start one car at a time; if there was no slack to separate the cars, they would never be able to start a typical train.
While in God's Green Earth would anyone put a 100HP electric motor in a car, a car might push 15-20 HP worth of air at 70 MPH so a 100 HP electric might push a car 150 - 200 MPH. You need that big of an gasoline engine to make a compact car go, but that's because of the engine's problems; you need much less electric HP than you do gas HP. A hundred Horse electric would probably be comfortable in a semi tractor-trailer
use pulse code modulation, there's ICs all over the place to build the controllers out of, not to mention prefab controller boards for every thing from an electric model airplane to a 10 thousand horsepower diesel-electric locomotive. They very efficient, they just switch from off to on to off as needed and generate very little waste heat.
One of the big advantage is the electric motor has maximum torque at stall, when you need it and the torque tapers off gradually until the motor is at top speed. The petrol engine by contrast has little torque at idle, the engine needs excess fuel (runs rich) at idle and requires to operator to slip the clutch and advance the throttle to move the vehicle from a standstill. Most electrics use a controller that cycle the power on and off rapidly which allows the vehicle to start smoothly
When I was in the National Guard, one of our Warrent Officer's "civilian job" was a US Govt. liason for Canadian Defense Contractors. I also know that not only is it a different world, but a world where paying a reasonable price for something that'll never be purchased means all of the things that will be purchased will go up porportionally. The comment was meant as sarcastic humorus parody of bleeding heart liberal conspiracy theorists, sorry that I forgot the sarcasim tag and was confused with a real bleeding heart liberal conspiracy theorist.
Where these things are useful is when you have to prep dug-in infantry, guys in caves or bunkers or even foxholes. The trick is to disperse to fuel, and let it settle into the nooks, crannies and holes that we legs like to hide in then detonate; then all the battlements we build to keep out the high impulse bomb nastiness then keeps the low-impulse nastiness in.
well they are admitting that they are developing it now, which means it's 5 years old and the terr's have an effective work-arround and that the Air Force actually needs some of those $450.00 TOILET SEATS FOR REAL.
I've got a toucj of ADAH, a smidgen if dislexia, and maybe a smattering of Asugergers syndrome in short I sometimes even miss-spell my own name and I can't type worht a shit, let them try and figure that out.
The way I understand it is a long time a go, RMS wrote some software and a big company stole it, RMS caught them and called them on it and the big company basically said "yeah so whatcha gonna do sue us or something?" To keep that from happening again he started the FSF and wrote the GPL. Now the GPL v3 is about punishing TiVO and microsoft/novell. I don't intend to buy a TiVo, and if I wanted a DVR I'd probably go the MythTv route instead, SuSE pissed me off a while ago so I quit using anything that they sold even before they got bought out by Novell who inhertited some of my Ire and it's been ages since I actually spent extra money to get something from Microsoft so the whole thing is a tempest in a teapot to me. Now if I were an embedded systems vendor I'd be spitting nails over this whole GPLv3 thing, but I'm just a guy who will probably never use the GPL v3 for any of my software released and it'll be a cold day in hell before I use the "or future versions" clause in my copyright notices.
(Our own kernel project, started in 1990, was going slowly.) So in 1992 he dropped in the Linux kernel and 15 years later his kernel projects product is suitable for the daring. Yeah I propose we call it GNU/Linux for GNU is Not Unix, its Linux.

The Egyptians would be able to give your ayurvedic medicine a good run for it's money if not outright predate it.

unless your a brain-damaged vegetable that lingers for couple years and rack up a couple million in bills.

Recently there has been a rash of accidents caused by professional drivers doing demonstration burnouts some resulting in spectator fatalities.

pretty cool, getting moded flamebait in a thread about an IC chip that'll run in a blast furness!
