So are you saying that I should block all IE users just cause I make sure that Mozilla works on my sites (because I happen to be the 2% minority)???
That is just plain stupid! MSN is a major site they should have developers that are smart enough to develop a site that can be viewed in ALL major browers. I make sure that all of my sites can be viewed w/IE, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, and Konqueror. Why? Cause that is what my user base uses and it's not that hard.
I just clicked on "advertise" on thier error page and it just happens to look exaclty like http://msn.com from a windoze box... I thought that it wouldn't render correctly on Mozilla??? Whatever, just another reason to avoid M$...
If the "Details censored in accordance with the US DMCA" does that mean that 2.2.20 will not and can not be released in the US???
Think about it, if Alan can not tell us in plain english (as in this code causes this, etc., etc., etc.) what the problem is, can he tell us via code??? Simply put by downloading 2.2.20pre10 and 2.2.20pre11 and doing a diff we could find the answer ourselves rather easily. Heck we could even do this by doing a diff on 2.2.19 and 2.2.20 (when released) with a little more work.
So where can the line be drawn? More importaintly, can the US see 2.2.20? And if we can, do I (US citizen) have the legal right to compare 2.2.20 w/older versions in the 2.2.x tree???
I wonder what this means for SuSE Linux as it is today? SuSE recently replaced RedHat as my Linux of choice (Why you might ask, because I find that SuSE is more flexable for the things that I do).
Actually there is something wrong w/the equation. If value is coolness/cost and cost=0, then no matter what the coolness is, value is undefined. Therefore, if it is Linux we're talking about i would say that value is near infinity. However, as far as ms winblows goes, we all know that cost is not = to 0 so value will never be as high as Linux. As for free copies, the undefined value would have to be a negative.
