Stringent Rules and tough personal calls on what is right and wrong morally, and allways having to take the company line on that matter.
Only thing that would get me to take that job is if it paid well (which from the sound of it, it did, for an entry level position)
I guess there should be some congratulation for fee speech from AOL, as well as their grounds for rightful censorship, and security of personal information. Just as many bad things to say against all those as well.
For those AOL "pass this on to every person in your address book, so some non existant sob story lukemia/AIDS/emasculated little child can get money SOMEHOW for you sending such an annoying message to people who will soon hate you" messages. That, or his bulk e-mail spam.
With Verisign being a Network Solutions company... ooh wait, It's vice versa.
There should be different country "verisign" type SSL cert. providers, just in case of different currency interests. Nationalism is a slight concern here, as when currency is involved, most countrys like to deal with that "inside"
I haven't found much material on people being so hopped up to watch Skylab take it's swan dive into the pacific 20 or so years ago. How should this be different?
You were the cockroach of Space Stations. Ugly as hell, had it's major problems, and now is going to be watched burned for the enjoyment of Pre and Post adolescent american males.
I mean, You'd think MS wouldn't really want to help the government after having all the legal troubles they did, what with the case and all. I'd like to see the claims by Deustch Telekom and Sigmen. Just curious...
So RIAA is making a big case against MP3 sharing services, saying that people arn't getting the royalties they are entitled to, and now they're stiffing the people to whom the royalties are entitled to.
Can we just find a Judge to review the entire RIAA vs. Napster, RIAA vs MP3.com, and just tell RIAA that enough's enough, either follow your own rules, or we're overturning these decisions
Most of us won't have the hardware in time to run a PS2 Archetecture emulator. And from a standpoint, it would be cheaper to go and buy a PS2 then a whole new computer just for the purpose of playing PS2Roms.
But then again, I'm doing this from the casual Gamer perspective of having your system just fast enough to play games for about a year or so, and then doing enough upgrades just to keep up with the bare minimum reqs.
Yes, there are people like me. Usually we're college students paying tuition out of our own pockets.
I'm optimistic that Sony will continue to develop the VGS, seeing as how it will make their software that much more profitable. Especially for those of us that like the games, but can never seem to scrounge enough cash to buy the system.
My hope is that Nintendo would do the same with it's older consols and games, help development of emulators, and maybe spark a larger interest in "ghetto games" for the NES/SNES. All this without the pesky hyperventilation of getting those old cartridges to work.
As a student that goes to a campus with an ICS major, as well as a student that is INTERESTED in going into that particular field as a major or minor, or double major, I can vouch that some schools do belive that CS turns into part Web Design and programming. At my school, there are such classes as Sysadmining through a particular OS, and, yes, the obligatory "web" class. But that does not mean there aren't other classes out there for students like myself to choose. There are the inquisitive, math heavy, "theoretical" classes, such as algorithm design, network topology design, etc. A truly good school will teach you Java, C, C++, but only as tools to help you understand the ideas that go behind making those languages work, and work effectively.
Also, a school that has a good CE as well as a good CS major, should "cross breed" the programs. So that CE Majors get a taste for the people that they're designing for, and the CS majors get a taste on the physical limits of hardware. Makes for strange bed fellows, and also helps technology increase
FYI, I am a student at University of California at Irvine. =/
... Since the game was semi playable, and it is Arthur C. Clarke... I don't know. Might be a toss up between Mission to Mars and Red Planet. Sounds really interesting though, and seeing as I played that old game as a kid, should be "nostalgic" to one member of a generation that grew up on Thundercats and Snarf
Now I've been a reader of T. Pratchett's Discworld series, ever since I found a copy of Sourcery in my mom's book case. Now, with the recent novels focusing on The Watch, Lancre, and practically everyone else in the universe except our favorit inept wizard Rincewind. Last book I remember reading of him was his trip to the counterweight continent. Now, I'm all for new charicters, but following Pratchett's track record, there's going to end up being 3 more books about this new charicter. And dangit, I miss Rincewind.

Why is a NSA spinoff looking at mars in the first place.
Just food for thought for those X-philes out there.

What a shame.

So a theorem happens like that, while staying in Study Hall. Knew I was missing out on something in Middle School
Not a frown. More like a typicle sneer or goofy smile
P.S. There's a town here? ALl I know is what's on the way from University to about Culver.
Albertsons, Campus Plaza, and the F**KING PARKING!
