But seriously, Microsoft are quite rightly worried about their lack of influence in the arena of slick 'cool' operating systems and so they're trying to build a new OS that does both the desktop and the smart phone. As a developer I worry that they're going to end up with something that's no good for either. If they do, they'll probably take a step back with 9, and maybe 8 will end up being seen as nothing more than a concept product.
