  1. Really, Slashdot? on Top Coders Tell Agents, "Show Me the Money!" · · Score: 1

First post a story about how difficult is to get a well paid job in the IT field because of the inmigration policies, and then post an obvious advertisement that starts with the phrase "So, you're a 10x developer or a 25x programmer, but not getting paid like one?".

    Am I being paranoid?

"We're not dogmatic about this – we'll always use the best tool for the job".
That's one of the most interesting points in the article. More people should think like that. In the end, software is just a tool.

We tried it with my team, the interface is incredibly slow, but it works without problems. I just can't understand how an IM application released in 2013 manages to be so slow on a pretty modern computer.... 6. I don't have to reboot anymore on Steam For Linux: A Respectable Showing · · Score: 2

I haven't booted Windows since Valve released the games I play for Linux. As most "Linux Gamers" that don't enjoy Tux Racer, when I take breaks from work I want to play for a while, and that's the only reason I own a legal copy of Windows. It's not HL2 Episode 3, but I'm very happy with this.
