If you have apt4rpm installed (apt4rpm.sourceforge.net) you can just type:
apt-get distupgrade. It worked fine going from 7.1 to 7.2, but I don't know about major upgrades...
This is true, and it may push it underground for awhile, but somebody will come up with the next killer music sharing app, and it will be main-stream again. For example, people traded mp3's online before napster, like on irc and stuff, but it ttok an easy to use app like napster to get it off the ground. I think this will happen again
This shows that some govenments are really serious about cracking down on sharing of pirated music, but they will never be able to stop it all. Somebody will always be out there cooking up the next way to share music. If anything, this will just make people try harder to make better programs
This remeinds me of an article I readawhile ago , might have been on/.
any ways, this guy was going to put constellation of G4 cubes (that's right the apple "super computers") into orbit with modified AirPort
and in doing so create a global wireless network, or some shit like that. Wonder how he's doing
Anyways, Pico-sats are cool because they offer a low cost way for scientists to put useful instruments in orbit.
I think that one of the major hurdles that keeps the average computer user from using linux is the non-standardization, and sometimes lack of an easy installer program. I mean, if a windows user new to linux downloads the c source of something and nothing else, chances are they are going to have no idea what to do from there. If there was a excepted installer, like (gasp) Install Shield for windows, that anybody could use, and that most programs used to install, then i think alot more average people would use linux.
I bet that amazon is selling just about naything they can under their user agreement, and probably stuff they can't. I mean they must be kinda desperate for money, what withth this stupid voluntary tip system and all/
That was probably one of the best simpsons episodes, but anyways 10 bucks says there is some body out there trying to match satelite pictures to people. Probably because they have nothing better to do.
Did you know that most people can be identified by only their birthday, area code, and 1 or 2 interests. Yet another reason to lie on on-line regestration forms.

Ah yes, the joys of military doctrine. Seems that all we pay the majority of the army for is making up doctrine and acronyms. Just another example of your tax dollars at work!
I Live In The Shadows...
(if you don't get the quote above, kagemushaa means shadow warrior in japanese)
didn't you read the article on the missile defense system the army built for israel, that uses a laser to shoot down missiles, methinks that is a weapon.

I hate to troll, but wine runs solitare just fine. (admitedlly (sp?) a 20 mb download for just solitare is a bit high)
600KB's?
That's nuthin! When I was on the @home network i got close to 900KB's using a multi-threaded/connection news app.
P.S.
Yes I am aware of K's versus k's
If you want I will email you a picture I have of my cable modem scoring 9.84 mBs on a speed test.I am not lying.
I think the point was that some one has gone over pretty much everyline of code and he is more apt to trust a OSS programmer than anyone at MS

this is certainly interesting, but i am worried about the stupid network admins, who might just set up a filter like this, and nothing else.
