  1. Everyone wants to be a Jedi on Star Wars Galaxies · · Score: 5

That was a problem with the old Star Wars MUDs that I used to play. Everyone wanted to be a Jedi, which isn't exactly true to the image of the series. One solution I saw was that everyone had a class (like figher or trader) but could also become a Jedi. I didn't think it was a good solution, but I can't think of any good solution.

I agree with the last guy - the moderators don't know what the hell they're doing. And because I said that about them, this will probably be "off-topic" too (despite the fact that it actually *is* off topic)

  5. Revenge of Ganon on Rewriting The Past With Zelda · · Score: 1

The same thing was actaully done quite a while ago by a guy who made a version of Zelda called "Revenge of Ganon". He also made a Zelda game editor and a version of Mario which he called "Ice Mario" or something where the iceballs shot across the screen instead of bouncing. I think this guy deserves more credit since he did this so long ago. I don't know where you could find it, but I imagine that Zophar's domain would have them.

  6. GITS/GITS2 on Robotech On DVD, Ghost in the Shell 2 · · Score: 1

I didn't like the way that the movie took a series of independent stories from the comics and associated them all with the "puppet master". The AI was also not aggressive in the comics (and was only in two stories if I recall).

Is GITS2 going to be based on Man-Machine Interface? Or is it going to be an independent story?

  7. Cosmology of Kyoto on Can You Suggest Any Non-Zero Sum Games? · · Score: 1

This will be lost in the 600+ message shuffle, but Cosmology of Kyoto is an awesome "game" that is really more of an experience. Not challenging, but pretty. Check the underdogs for it.

  10. Silly error in article on A Pair Of Quantum Computing Articles · · Score: 1

It points out that quantum computers are reversible, meaning that the entropy doesn't change and no heat is released (no random uncontrollable motion). But it says that it's just like perfume coming out of a bottle. That is clearly an IRreversible process! You cant stuff the perfume drops back in the bottle! (Not naturally at least).

Thanks... except that last part (and maybe the first sentence).

  12. End of the Tour on Ask 'They Might Be Giants' · · Score: 1

This has been driving me nuts for a long time, and I doubt that it will make the cut of answered questions, but I'll try anyway. Is "End of the Tour" about a man who kills a car full of teenagers? I've heard this, but only through fan-analysis. Thanks, I've loved you guys for so many years!

  13. Re:Games are not life on Up, Up, Down, Down: Part Two · · Score: 1

A but off topic... but I love Angband, a Rogue derivative, and I'm only 23. Games can be creative, but most aren't. The possibility of a unique experience is why the rogue/nethack/angband/zangband games are so good. I don't think that most games are as imaginative as Katz claims.
