Sierra can have some really terrible games. However, Homeworld was pretty good (if you want a new game)

If you're looking for an older (cheaper) game I suggest Command & Conquer or Myth. C&C has some major flaws but it's the best of the entire series, and Myth/Myth 2 remain my favorite strategy games since the day I first played them.

Note, however, that myth 2 CAN have a steep learning curve, and individual style helps a lot in discovering what works for you.

I wouldn't say they'd do quite so well with monkey island. That game depends on being able to give yourself an extremely twisted way of looking at things (The whole melt the painting thing in monkey four, the ship and island areas in monkey 1)

That's like saying all men are slobbering perverts who want only one thing in life. Completely innaccurate.

Also, the percentage of female gamers is constantly rising. A good many of my gaming friends are women. If I remember correctly it's up to around 30% now.

One of the great lessons in life: People are stupid. A customer rarely understands the product, much less the people behind it. The sheer volume of (I've been told) true stories of "where's the any key" is staggering. Hell, one is too many. =)

Ah well, back to that perty little white room they gave me.

    First, the disagreements:
    1) The article was referring to senior citizen old, not parents old (at least that's what I gathered). Not to bash seniors, as many I've known have been extremely insightful, but I've known many more that simply sit and lament the changing of the world, and try to force it backward. Note: the latter I've encountered by far the most often in seniors. It's a natural defense mechanism, but counter-productive all the same.

    2) Don't generalize teens please. ;) Not everyone has to wait until 20 to become knowledgable.

    Agreement:
    1) Your main point has a point. This analyzation is part of the thing that drives the elusive evil teen population do do what it is they do. I know because what's unpopular is often what I end up doing for that reason (The bigger the mob, the more stupid its actions, at least regarding culture, and often regarding serious issues). So yes, analyzation is worthless except for purposes of pure curiosity.

Consider it this way: a true "gamer" is generally pretty intelligent (note: I'm not referring to the 12-13 year olds and even more terrifying adults that get their jollies in perverse ways) and, myself included, prefer the anonymity of the online game (MMOG). Sure there are more productive things to do, but look at football and so many other athletics. I don't understand that. When's the last time you saw an RPG lover strap a razor to his helmet? Just a wee opinion. =)
