Prodigy (back when it was a proprietary service, not just another ISP) had graphical ads on the bottom fifth of the screen since inception, IIRC. I'm sure lot of the other old proprietary online services did too.
...that I found via Google. The guy mentions that it would probably be over 2MB if it happened, but that wouldn't be a problem for someone with an 8MB Palm, or even a 4MB. I know I'd take out some of the games on my almost full Palm IIIx to make room for Perl if it was ported.
1. Although you are named the copyright holder, you developed it while working for your employer, so they have ultimate rights to it.
2. The GPL doesn't prevent the copyright holder from changing the license on later versions of the software, only against anyone else taking the source and releasing it under anything besides the GPL. Therefore, as long as they don't try to put the cat back in the bag and "un-GPL" all the old versions (how they would, I don't know), all the versions from now on could be released under any license they feel like.
It was first, but was inferior to the artificial heart in the story referenced above, because there were all sorts of tubes and wires that had to poke out the patient's chest to connect the heart to a lot of machinery outside. The story is saying this one is totally internal...
Just a random guess, but I'll bet it never took off because the levels sucked. In my experience, the majority of custom level makers suck, and when they try to base a level on a real-life location, the result is even higher suck quotient.
If you're interested, there is a special airing on CNN this Saturday, (January 13th) during their "Science & Technology Week" program at 1:30 pm Eastern. Coverage will include Boeing work at both Wichita and Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque.
If all drugs -- *ALL* drugs -- were legalized, and taxed at point of sale, personal income taxes could be eliminated. If the government were to get involved in its manufacture, testing and distribution, there'd be all that much more profit for it
Okay, lets say that all drugs were legalized. Do you think the current distribution scheme is just going to go away? Mr. Dope Dealer has a nice little racket going, and he just won't stop selling because there's legal places to buy now. And if a drug user has a choice between taxed, legal dope/crack/heroin, or untaxed illegal dope/crack/heroin, which will they choose? Probably more than a few will choose the untaxed, illegal stuff. The government would then be losing a lot of taxes to illegal, untaxed sales, and would have to ferret out the distributors/users of the "illegal" drugs. Then where would we be? Right back where we are now.
"you are not entitled to screw around with with other peoples property just because you think you know whats best for them."
Looking at your link to Nader's page, I find that statement quite ironic, as "screwing around with other people's property because he thinks he knows what's best for them" is about as good a summary of Nader's views as I can think of.

Oh *that* kind of trolling...

Whois will work, or you can use this nifty website.

Yeah, tell those bloody Aussies to stuff it, cause Australia doesn't count as "anywhere"...
Yeah, but we're talking about American dollars here, so wouldn't it make sense to use the proper (American) definition of "billion"?

Very true. I also think driver education should be conducted in top fuel dragsters. If they can't handle everything right away, it's their damn fault!
That sounds like people accusing me of being a bot in Quake 2. Hehe.
