I am a student, and to be able to walk away from College with a degree and a laptop would be great. With tuition costs it seems like this kind of system should allready be in place in most universities especially since there is so much funding available from the government for anything technologically inclined. As far as running the required programs off servers and liscencing are concerned, i'm sure that there would be some way to create accounts (mac or pc) where the students could only log-on to the school's network to use the necessary programs and have third party software on a separate account.
