Actually you can do something with certain kinds of proprietary software.
For example, you can create a wrapper. Or you can tell the users to follow
some strange procedure (e.g., don't use the so-and-so tool in the toolbar
because it will immediately crash the software).
But in my experience pointing fingers does not work not only because it
doesn't make the problem go away; the vendor won't even listen.
