Instead of this, we should install kiosks at random places that only let you access slashdot. And make a giant flat screen of some sort that automatically went to the latest Slashdot article and read the comments out loud through a building. I could just hear it now...
"FP FP FP FP FP FP !!!!"

I don't believe the HISTORY channel would bend history, do you? What's the point? They wouldn't try to promote the movie either, the sappy love story just doesn't cut it.

There is an internal antenna, buddy. It's the same way AM works on most radios... the antenna is for FM.

This is pretty cool. Think about it, there were like 20 WEB SITES when this first debuted. Now there's amiallyourbaseornot.com. Now that's just weird.

  6. Hmm.... on Sony's Double Density CD-RW Drive Reviewed · · Score: 1

When I first read about this, I thought it was going to be some proprietary thing that won't work out. Well, I still do. The thing with CD-R? and DVD-R? is that they have multiple uses. Just look, there's Video CDs, Photo CDs, and now even cameras that write directly to them. It's kind of like the SuperDisk. Only one or two companies, as major as they are, making hardware for this format is not going to work out. I know someone might say, "yeah, but what about the Zip disk?" so I'll cover that. See, Zip got the advantage because it came out before conventional CD-Rs, and 100mb on rewritable disk slightly bigger than a floppy disk was pretty cool. The trend grew, and Iomega became more of a household name. Now, even though Sony is a big player, I still think this won't last too long. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I JUST don't think it will work.

I'm pretty sure Gore did not code one line of HTML in the White House website. Al Gore probably has never heard of Linux, ever programmed anything, or knows what is going on in the computer world right now. Sure, he may know stuff about Napster, being that it's on the news everyday, but do you think he's heard of SubSeven? Probably NOT.

Well, actually, PQAs are really meant for wireless Palms... if you don't have a wireless palm, you're better off downloading AvantGo and syncing http://slashdot.org/palm to your Palm/Visor.

  9. Windows XP is the anti-user! on Windows XP to Target MP3 Files · · Score: 1

It seems that Microsoft is taking every step they can to make their OS more user friendly. Friendlier interface, friendlier Windows Media Player, friendlier MSN (which is now a major component of Windows.) Microsoft wants to make you lazy and fat by making you sit at your computer and having everything you could possibly need and more. (Ability to print photos, buy furnature, feed your dogs in another state.) But then, they decide "let's take out what the consumers want! You know, USB, that thing we developed... er, and support for MP3 things. Wait! I have a REAL funny idea! Let's make it so... so... they can listen to them, but they sound like CRAP and you have to download a new one to listen to them right. And how about this -- make it like 50mb, filled with useless crap like Hotmail stuff. Great!." Microsoft is the anti-user.
