Macrovision has been a problem to some people who aren't necessarily video or audiophiles. Some just buy DVD players because...I dunno...it's fun to have movies on a CD lookin' thing. Whatever the reason, some people just buy DVD players for the heck of it, and they don't have receivers or anything, and their TV's are kinda jacked and have only one RCA input..so they wire it through their VCR...and that's wehre Macrovision kicks in.

But I remember the old days, SWITCHES! Those were nice. Sony's original 7000 had 'em and a lot of players had them back then.

Yeah..unfortunately, there must always be a sacrifice...Quantity or Quality.

I suppose you can wait until blue laser comes out..who really knows when that is...But seriously, if you really want one, get one. There's no better time to start stockpiling your DVD collection! Besides, if your lookin for Star Wars on DVD...don't expect it too soon. About the blue laser thing, he said the same thing before...I'll wait until there are more than 1 million DVD players sold (now there's like 13 million), then he said i'll do it when DVD-18 is released...it's been out for awhile. He may be screwing us again. But, anyway, have fun. It'll probably not be too hard to pick up an Apex for like $150. I'm not sure if a release date has been established for the blue laser technology, but within 3 months of it, go ahead and buy one (a nice one) from places like United Audio Center...they have a thing (atleast when i bought mine) to upgrade my DVD player if ever the company adds some new technology within 3 months of me buying it.
