So, NASA spends millions every year monitoring debris (more commonly knows as space crap) and are worried that even a flake of paint can damage a space station because of its speed, and they deliberately put debris (crap) into space. Well done NASA.
should read my comment above. These costs don't include decommissioning, changing fuel, storing fuel, security etc. It's a completely false comparison. With solar, once you've built it, apart from a bit of cleaning, that's pretty much it.
nuclear is way, W A Y more expensive, especially if you take in to account of the billions it takes to decommission the thing when it comes to the end of its life. Let alone build the thing. And costs of storing spent fuel underground, shipping it, national security protection, etc. Funny how people who love nuclear, never include any of these costs.
The problem with most large powerstations is they're generally some distance away from the towns and area they're generating electricity for. A massive chunk of electricity gets lost in the miles and miles of cable used to route it to people's homes, massively reducing efficiency.
It's when you see someone stroking the side of it (to go through menus etc.) that makes the wearer look real creepy, especially if they're concentrating on the screen and haven't noticed there's a child standing in the front.
Apple are pretty much control freaks at the best of times. But you expect to be controlled one way or another if you buy in to a closed OS.
And the US is just as controlling as China when they demand back doors to be included in security products to bypass encryption to spy on your data. If you think your in anyway living in a free country, no matter where you live, , then you must be high on something.
In the video there looks like a rack of pointy sticks. Now, whats the chances of a bored person finding a blowup domb to fling one at?
As for security, looks about as secure as a Microsoft OS.
So its 100 dollars. Thats not cheap anymore. The Raspbery Pi has less memory and a slower processor and can play 1080p just fine, but your making a deal of the fact this will play HD.
Theres a bunch of quad core tablets on the way with obviously the extra cost to the manufacturer of a touch screen etc, for around 100 dollars.
And as discussed in orher threads, Ubuntu has become malware or even spyware.
So what market is this going for exactly.
The amount of money these companies must spend on giving free mapping apps amazes me. If Microsoft had been the only player, we'd be paying mega-bucks for it.
But I'm frustrated with the navigation app on my Android phone. The round-about icon always shows the same icon, i.e. turning right, unlike a Tomtom where the icon shows the direction of exit. And the arrows on the motorways are only a few shades of blue different from the motorway it's self, sometimes making it really difficult to see. Plus having a GPS connection and Data connection at the same time really sucks the battery dry really fast (the phones get really HOT when running these apps).

the whole sale cost of solar panels has been dropping every year (well here in Europe anyeay). It depends when he/you got the figures from.

Shame the camera is so low res. Almost retro in spec.
