Ignoring AIDS completely for a sec. I hope you have no problem with all the other veneral diseases that condoms help protect you from. Ever heard of Herpes or syphilus (sp?)?
I've been supporting Windows NT 4.0 and MacOS (Appleshare) servers for two years now, and I can tell you Mac's are no better then Windows, actually worse as file servers. After fiddling about you can get a stable Windows NT server configuration that won't bugger up except for a hardware failure, or some idiot administrator decides to install a whole heap of client beta software on the production server (happened).
Contrast with the Mac servers, where it is standard practise to purchase a 'MacCoach' with the server, due to constant unexplained reboots (On a bare minimum server configuration).
BTW. A MacCoach is a hardware device that connects to the ADB keyboard port, when it fails to get a response from the driver software in a specified time period, it sends a reset command (bit rusty, umm, Cmd, option, Backspace). However we still had to go and power cycle them occasionally becasue they froze in a point where the keyboard reset wouldn't work.
Of course this had nothing to do with the fact that America sold arms to both sides before joining the war.
Compared with Europeans??? That hardly counts as the rest of the world, what about Canada, Australiasia (Still never had a war on their soil, well Oz anyway.) Asia, etc.
What most likely happened is that maanagement gave the task to a team of programmers. After not being able to find all the specifications for the protocols they needed, and they were running out of time, someone grabbed the everybuddy code, and didn't bother telling management, or management didn't fully understand the consequences of the license (English not being their native language maybe?). Now that management have found out, they are scrambling to make things right, and you may soon find either one or several programmers out on their arse in the street.
Most Copyright Laws no longer require you to register your copyright. At least in Australia you do not even need the Copyright mark. If you wrote it, it is copyright whether or not you enforce it. Also the "All rights reserved" line used after most copyright notices is unnecessary as this is implied by the copyright mark now. Well at least it is in Oz, your milege may vary.
"I can't speak for all corporations, but most majors have their key servers in rooms with alarms and/or armed guards. I'll bet that your backups aren't stored in such safe conditions."
Yes but a corporation is a much more juicy target, since it is a collection of many individuals information. It still more likely statistically speaking for a corporation to loose data then for an individual. Remember the bigger the data store, the juicier the target. So what if they can't get past newtwork or physical security, in a company of large size, there's always someone over-worked, under-paid and under-appreciated who have access to that data, and who might be encouraged to divulge that information to a third party if the correct cash incentive is used.
Yes, I think a client-side checksum, preferrably digitally signed by the server, would be a good idea. Without knowing the flaw the crackers used, I couldn't say that this would have stopped them. However assuming that there where no backdoors in the protocol/implementation or glaring flaws, this would be a good way to check that the person logging in is really the person that owns the character. If a similar idea is good enough for most banks, then it should be plenty good for a gaming server.
Yes thats what the _article_ said. Not what www.wheelman.com.au says.
There are diciplinary action for breaches to.

>No scientist is attacking HIV-AIDS theory that >does not have a political motive.
If you had read the links you would realise just how stupid this make your entire post seem.
'tis a crap link.
>That is pretty scary, MacOS is about as stable >as PC with 50 ISA cards.
Ouch.
>MS prone to crash?

Why?
