The only reason it renamed the file to metall~5.mp3 was because you had at least four other files which started with metall. There's no way for anybody to tell that metall~5 = metallica-fourhorsemen.

What the hell are they thinking? Who in the world needs 10.8 Terabytes in a mobile phone or PDA?! I wonder if the author even knows what a Terabyte is.

I agree that all countries need to be persuing cleaner alternatives. Don't go blaming the US for all the problems. The rest of the world is responsible for 75% of the total. I think a lot of people don't seem to grasp the significance of that.

Here's a crazy thought: Don't hook the machines up to the internet. Just because it'll most likely be some type of PC doesn't mean it has to be available on the internet.

And then of course to eliminate all concern over digital only ballots, use the voting machines to print a standardized form. Without the printed paper ballot the digital one is worthless.

The machines shouldn't actually be tallying up votes. They should be an added intermediate step which provides for the validation of the voter's choice. 'You voted for Gore, if correct press Yes.'

Sorry for the lack of info, but a coworker once mentioned that two cable modems can talk to each other directly, without anything between, just connected via cable. He also mentioned that someone had used this idea to provide cheap internet access.
