  1. We Are On The Road To "Strakh" (See Vance, Jack) on Say Goodbye To the Information Age: It's All About Reputation Now (aeon.co) · · Score: 1

Read "Moon Moth" by Jack Vance - are we indeed going there? Time to pull out the double-kamanthil.

  2. Hebrew/i18n/l10n/Microsoft Bashing on Living In A Microsoft Country (And Speaking The Language)? · · Score: 1
First, the bashing: Microsoft-format docs that wend their way to my mailbox are bounced back, no matter in what format/language they appear. And it is not that I think that MS whatever is a bad OS. WinME is a GREAT OS. I run quite a few IMPORTANT apps on it - Baldur's Gate 2, Mechwarrior 4, etc.

Second, Israel-bashing: Israel had been blessed with an asshole of a science minister - Michael Eitan. That idiot sold Israel's computing standards for thirty bits of silver to Mr. Balmer. We elected the shit, we have to grin and bear it.

Third, Use the tool that does the job - you MUST have Hebrew? In Israel that means MS whatever. Be willing to go as far as setting a special "Windows compilance workstation" for this kind of work. Which, by the way, is what I and another of my friends did in a real-life, actual, working company - the entire computing, scientific and development department uses Linux, IRIX and what-not, the bean-counters use Windows 3.11.

    Works.

  3. Re:www.adbusters.org on RPM Package Manager · · Score: 1

This is, to the best of my limited knowledge (I work in Aduva), not the plan. Pay-for-play for users is, as I said in a previous post, not the plan and, prabably, not very profitable, either ;-).

  4. Re:What all Linux Package Managers Lack... on RPM Package Manager · · Score: 1

actually, debian dows provide debian-repack which _could_ be used to a-priory back up a package before replacement ;-). Space concerns are another issue, YMMV.

  5. Re:it's a step, but in the wrong direction on RPM Package Manager · · Score: 1

The standard aduvizor RPM should include ttyzor which runs on the command line. It is quite stupid, IIRC, but at least does not require a running X11 ;-). M

not yet. we may be adding support for beowulf, depending on demand. Let's see demand, eh? Easier to canvass resources if the community raves for it, no? ;-). M

  7. Re:Aduva Manager... on RPM Package Manager · · Score: 1

There is no intent to fleece the private users. In fact, it is probably not profitable. However, the way the program works, if for some reason the user grows tired of the Aduva Mangler - all that needs to be NOT done is run the program. C'est touts. :-)
