I just finished reading TFA, and going back to the article TFA links to, and watching the video...
My first comment. What. The. Fuck.
This wasn't "bullying", this was sexual extortion. I would consider it in the same class of crimes as rape, and should hold similar punishment standards. Not simply bullying. But TFA really confuses me- they keep using the term "bully" and switching between talking about the man who blackmailed her and the people around her who punched and kicked and gave shady glances and posted mean comments on Facebook. The others around her? They were bullies. But nobody seems to be going after them, even if they are the "problem". TFA reeks of "something must be done about this problem and oh here is another worse problem to compare it to that led to this one". And I feel that the article is pushing a "Cyberbullying must be stopped" agenda, which is a shame, because it detracts from the tragedy rather than adds anything to it. When I read it, I read "I have an agenda and I'm using this incident of malice and torment to further my agenda".
I can see it now.

Those people have a right to their ignorant opinion.

I can hear through my right ear- from those who studied me at Hopkins, it's at 150% of the average. My left has been deaf since near birth. I've learned to live with it (woohoo for me). Who cares.
Anyway, my lack of hearing is never more than a slight bother at times. But then again, I'm sure applying the cure will be more than a bother as well- more of a bother than it's worth. And this is coming from someone who is planning on laser eye surgery.
For you to tell me that my opinion on the matter of MY hearing being restored is IGNORANT, when I've OBVIOUSLY thought/researched/argued about this topic more than you just pisses me off. Do you think deaf people don't know that they're deaf? Because that's how you come across to me.
IIRC, all of the work is done by transporting the entangled particles in the first place. After the entangled particles are separated, you can send the information instantaneously. After you reveal the information, the particles are useless for communication until they are entangled again.

Unless you have one way to be 100% sure that you are speaking with the intended party on first communication, Public Key Crypto does nothing to prevent MitM attacks. All Eve has to do is decrypt your message with her key and encrypt it with hers to pass along the message, and she escapes undetected.
There are ways around this- check out the Interlock protocol or the ZFone algorithm- but all in all, I think the rule is: don't say things anywhere online that you don't want seen on the bulletin board in your workplace.
