All I know is that you just have to have other interests than computers. Most girls that I know don't know this from that when it comes to machines. So unless they can respond with a somewhat knowledgable answer, the subject is taboo. Other than that, just be yourself....
I agree that the large amount of college students are spoiled out of their ass. They have classes for 3 hours a day and that is it. But there is still a small group of us who go to school full time plus work a full time job ( and a part time job ). I will agree that I want to punch most of them in the face and tell them to wake up. But don't assume that all students (18 to 24) are just slackers....
I was a little overweight this last fall. I started a 3 month excercise program called body for life. It wasn't the easiest thing to get started, but I can say after 2 months of hard work I went from 6'6" 245 with 17.9% body fat down to 220 with 6.9% body fat. I haven't worked out in about 2 weeks and I am now down to around 110. This program has seriously changed my physique and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do the same. The biggest thing for me was that I stopped eating so much sugar and I started eating six small meals a day. Voila the rest is history.

I don't see where you are coming from with the mac - winbloze comparison. You first go off and talk about how terribly crappy the mac is with flash, and how you do high end actionscripting. Then you go and compare the flash plugin or player, they are two different things. Besides I just looked at the devlab.swift3d.com site on my old G3 Yosemite tower. Nice clean easy loading. I think that you should go a little easier on the Macs. Just because you are stuck doing dev work on a crappy Windows system you shouldn't take out your frustration on the Mac. Mabe instead of doing your super high end dev work you should load up a game of quake and use the OS for something that it can handle.

I am now down to 210 not 110. That would make me very aneroxic, or I lost my legs.
