Whenever Microsoft ask me what I think in surveys I tell them that I have sworn to never buy more than necessary from their company - because of their utterly disgusting calls for an Internet "Driving license" - using Microsoft technology of course, which would be a universal login as you describe.
Never, ever, forget that the entire purpose of a license is NOT to let you do something, it's handing someone else the power to STOP you doing it.
