Meh. I don't want to get into a discussion of specs and cents. One point that we can all agree is that the MBA is a fantastic value with amazing performance for under $1000. I don't have time to keep track of all the ultra books etc.
Pcmag is a horrible site so I didn't bother reading the article but you're clearly confusing ultrabooks and net books! Not the same thing! Apples and oranges, my friend.
ok, let's go back to the original point. the ASP for "ultrabooks" is $1400+. regardless of $1000 price point, the MBA is significantly cheaper than other "ultrabooks" and significantly outperforms.
What you're advocating, quite plainly, is that if you break into my house and steal something, that I can then break into your house to take something from you. The law is quite clear on this. As long as hacking into and stealing resources is illegal, you doing the same is just as illegal. Get a Rottweiler and a home alarm and sign up for personalized security patrols. In essence that is what you can do with regards to your electronic resources.
no its saying if you break into my house i can shoot you. welcome to texas.
have you considered multitasking? while waiting for your machine to do something you could clip your toenails, for example. just a thought, it works well for me.
apple wasn't visionary because they used USB, they were visionary because they phased out the old stuff and made USB mandatory. that was the visionary part and it took some guts. you cannot disagree or deny that.
nope. apple saved usb through things like the imac, which only had usb and got rid of serial ports etc. usb was lanugishing before then on windows because of poor support and buggy performance. this is why USB exists!
but his general comment stands... texting while driving is against the law so getting in a crash while texting should be investigated by the cops, like DUI. or speeding or running a red light.
the game maker has no control over the OS update content. they're concern is that it enables functionality for people to play their game, which is why they include it on disc. i don't know why sony removed the linux thing, but people blew that way out of proportion.
maybe a new game needs new OS functionality, and wouldn't work under the old OS. To be double sure you have the new OS they package it on the game disc. This seems logical to me. kinda like the starfox game for NES, remember that? except the starfox game came with additional hardware not additional software.
Luckily, since external thunderbolt enclosures are alarmingly expensive and totally out of step with the new look, any attempt at expansion shouldn't be a dreadful mess!
no worries, mfrs will come out with external bits that are stylistically consistent with the mac pro... remember all those bondi blue printers etc?
wtf rights? it's all contractual, whatever the contract says goes. similarly, if this guy signed a contract saying he couldn't shop the code around, then case closed next topic.
it's not a copyright. a copyright is when you distribute something and there are copyright restrictions, subject to things like caveats about fair use. THE COMPANY ISN"T DISTRIBUTING THIS SOFTWARE!!! so there are no caveats applied to it. the company owns the software, and they're doing what they want with it. to be precise - the software that the submittor wrote is not available. there is website software on the web that can be peeped, but this is the erroneous problem in the first place!!!!
wtf is this? fair use? we're not talking a copyright of a book, we're talking somebody's property. do I have fair-use rights to use your house for educational purposes?

just do it like Goldeneye, with that russian dude.
wrong is wrong. also, I didn't even bother to post on the ultrabooks, most of which are in the $1500 range, even that pixel chromebook.
I'm sorry that you lack an interest in precision. perhaps you should move to reddit?
What does that mean?
meanwhile, in USA, I have 4 channels that are showing the Kardashians at this very moment.
mba $999: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_air
sucks to be proven wrong!
(1) depends on use case. (2) very reasonably priced (sub $1000) compared to $$$$ ultrabook alternives or that schmancy chrome book.

what is a ramcard?

Things that caught my eye were (1) iCloud keychain to allow better mobile-system tracking of passwords by NSA Project PRISM ...
ftfy!

Sometimes people do vote for third parties, but I haven't seen major changes caused by that, either. Did Ross Perot have any lasting effects?
umm, ralph nader? gave bush the election?
