Hi, Let's hope that more people show interest in one of the best OSes around.
Linux and NT are nice Operating Systems, but BeOS is the future (or has at least very cool features). I really like the thread concept it has. And the file system is incredible.
This OS is really like "Mac on PC" (Bill Gates wanted that too, but we all know what happened;-))...and it has Unix features too! The only thing that would be even better would be some Nextstep mixed into it...
If there will we some apps in near future, I will erase Linux and NT and move to BeOS...well i'll keep my MacOS, though...until Apple gives the G3 code to Be...
maybe that's because there are a lot of Linux/Unix only Users out there that read Slashdot and have never used or seen a Mac for real.
Say anything against Linux (or even OSS) and they count it as personal insult. (why these people still stick with intel is another question...) they regard apple as toy or mickey mouse computer and thus it has no chance against mighty linux...
it's a shame to see that the once open minded linux community is becoming proud of itself like most stupid nt users are, who often regard linux as hacker/kids operating system...
just to let you know: i use linux on my peecee and on my m68k mac...
Whats the really COOL thing with these cases? They are basically grey with a little color and they are way ugly!!
I want something totally different... iMac is different, the NeXT slabs and cubes look cool (because the kbd, mouse and monitor are also in the same design)...
all this so called cool cases play just with bright colors, not with form - they are all box-like...they should also add more design elements to the sides and maybe the top (like the black IBM netfinity)
And why only Mid-towers?!? Some people like bigtowers, some like slab like things...
BTW: to check out cool case design get the book: Appe Design. has a lot of cool prototypes, especially the Spartacus (20th anniv. mac) models!
