We've blogged about the infrastructure change that led to this decision https://blog.twitter.com/2015/hard-decisions-for-a-sustainable-platform - I'd also point out that as undocumented and unsupported endpoint, probably never a good idea to rely on this data. No plans to change other JSON endpoints on the API.

I'd love to understand how this is a "clear case of... doing evil". This is a good read http://discursive.com/2013/01/09/things-to-keep-in-mind-as-a-vert-x-observer-you-dont-know-anything/
VMware and Red Hat issued a joint statement on direction in the vert.x Google Group and are working together to take this forward. To describe that as "evil" is misrepresenting the situation.

There's no intent that I have heard of to do this - in fact quite the opposite, see VMware and Red Hat joint statements in the vert.x Google Group (disclosure: I work on Open Source projects at VMware)
VMware and Red Hat jointly stated that the organisations wanted to work together and prefer a solution with an independent foundation (disclosure: I work on Open Source projects at VMware)
Seriously. Since May, WordPress.com has added XML import/export, custom headers, mobile support, new widgets, related tag surfer, comment tracking... plus it has always had blog stats, and migrating from Blogger was a snap. I'm glad I moved. I can't believe the mighty Google has taken so long to even start thinking about fixing Blogge.
Nobody seems to be mentioning the little guy in this discussion. I've been using RawShooter Premium for some months already, it has a lot of the features of both Aperture and Lightroom, and is reasonably priced.
So will these be readable on Sony DVD players? (their kit seems to be notorious for not reading burned media like VCDs... kind of kills home DV-VCD/DVD setups)
I'll admit that I'm biased (! - and who isn't?!) but it is coming along nicely now, and as someone who has to use Windows / Studio at work, I find it quite a comfortable transition. We're still working hard to improve it, it's not there yet (and as a few others have mentioned, KDevelop is probably slightly more "mature" right now, since it has been going longer and may have the larger development team), but the more people use it an propose improvements, the better we can make it.

Which "spinmods" are you referring to?

Slashdot seems late in picking this up. As I commented over on InTheGrid, and as reported on eightbar, I thought IBM had been around a while and held a press event in SL last month.

Erm, when was the last time you used Linux then? Running GNOME on RedHat 8 here, no problems with cut-and-paste between KDE/GNOME/Motif apps :-)

The problem with Forte is that it is slow as hell. Even on my P3 with a gig of RAM, it's painful.
