So Windows 8 has too low a market share but desktop Linux support is a great investment of time. Mozilla is the same organization that tried to make an antitrust stink out of the Metro browser as well. They seem to have a vested interest in portraying it as failure.

The last thing we need is thousands more comparative literature BA graduates working at Starbucks with my tax dollars paving the way.

Including microsoft it would appear, who are designing products by committee/feature tickbox sheet without any thoughts as to what it will be used for in the real world.

The only reason you think the tablet cannot be a laptop replacement is because Steve Jobs told you so. Some, like me, don't like schlepping around a second device because I might need the other. I'm not sure it will work, but it might. And for that I will give it a try.

  22. Re:Google Proxy War on Motorola Wants 2.25% of Microsoft's Surface Revenue · · Score: 0

Microsoft has negotiated agreements with Android vendors for licensing. According to you, Google has the right to sue for 2.25% of revenue because they don't like how much their business partners negotiated to pay Microsoft in licensing. 2.25% of revenue for wifi FRAND licenses is clearly orders of magnitude out of line. Google is digging itself a big hole here. THIS issue is one of the keys to the potential antitrust suit against Google and rather than see the obvious writing on the wall, they choose to double down on it. Not a wise judgement in my view.
