I wonder if the amount of lithium in the drinking water correlates with this data? Just curious if the states that are happy in general have higher trace amounts of lithium in the drinking water supply. I know in the past studies have shown suicide rates have been correlated to the amount of lithium in drinking water so I think it does make a valid question if it correlates to happiness in general.
