    The Python version included with RHEL 6 (that's the very latest version): 2.6 The Python version included with RHEL 5 (still widely used): 2.4

    Thank them for forcing us to keep supporting old versions.

    RHEL and its free variants, notably CentOS and Scientific Linux. The Python version mess is a HUGE issue in the academic sciences. The users I support, astrophysicists, are using a lot of Python and it's a gigantic mess.
