The new "FH's Dune" seemed to me to by trying hard to be unlike the movie. Like pronouncing the names of the great houses differently. That was irksome. It just sounds wrong. There is no good reason for this other than to declare "This is not the movie."
I liked the special FX a lot. I really liked what they did with the navigator. And the sand worms were pretty awesome.
The dialog sucked. I think the dialog in the movie was closer to the book (where it followed the book). Maybe I need to reread the book to see which is closer but FH's Dune seemed to diverge from the book quite a bit on dialog.
Dr. Yueh was done wrong yet again. I thought for sure they would get him right this time.
Piter was undeveloped. He is such a great character. The movie's Piter was far superior and seemed to caputre the book's Piter admirably. So disapointing.
I liked the fact that FH's Dune is doing more with Feyed. His gladiator stuff is absent in the movie. We'll see if the Thufir/Feyed stuff is developed. I hope it is!
Even though I can find lots of fault with FH's Dune, I'm still enjoying it greatly.
