GRASS actually seems pretty strange compared to ARCVIEW. Laying aside GRASSLANDS (which I know little of) to use it you pretty much had to do things on the command line or write a shell script for it.
So for scripting capability it is about the only way you can make it usuable for complicated projects.
As for add-on like SA, I think most of that capability is already built in but I'm not sure. I don't regularly use GRASS, I've just had to understand what was going on in few projects.
I currently work at CERL, where GRASS was originally developed and there are still a number of hard core GRASS fans around in the GIS community. I've seen an app developed in tcl/tk/GRASS and redeveloped in ESRI's ARC/INFO/Visual Basic and beyond VB database capability (which the developer found useless anyway) it looked isn't much you can't do in GRASS that you can do in the industry standard products.
10 years ago GRASS had the capabilities that ESRI is just implementing into ARC 8. All GRASS needs is the GUI and it should be a big competitor. I wish I had more time... I'd love to be part of that!
If illiad would include minorities it might backfire... Just remember this is a comic strip, and people see recism EVERYWHERE. He'd have to be real carefull.
Just think if Peter wasn't a white guy. Funny accent, acts strange. Could be misinterperted very easily, as it was in the Phantom Menace
He even mentioned adding an 'oriental' technician. You do know thats a no-no right? Asian is the appropiate term. Not a good start in PC land.
Some friends and I were discussing a sequel, and we decided that "Blair Witch II: the Revenge" starring Ash from Army of Darkness, and go a witch huntin'.
Seriously, until the ending I was pretty pissed at the movie. I thought it should have been renamed "Three Children Lost in the Woods", simply because I could not take how stupid those three were acting. I just wanted to smack them.
Like most people though the ending really sticks with me. I keep getting flasbacks to it. Never been spooked by a movie before...
I hope this will cause a number of copy cats, because it could have been REALLY freaky if done right. With a bit of luck, somebody will do it right.
Prequel should be the story of the first person freed from the matrix... remember that Neo was supposed to be the return of the first person freed of the matrix. Couldn't he play that character?
Or what about the story of Trinity and Morpheus being freed? I dont know about you guys, but I liked Morpheus more than Neo.
Sequel also would be easy, once humanity was freed then the revolution would begin. That could be a trilpgy in itself, and once Neo is out of the matrix he is just like any other human, not godlike anymore.
Sex is pleasurable simply because there would be no reproduction without it. When you REALLY think about it it is a really sloppy, barbaric process that if you were in your right mind you would never participate in.
Remember this, humans only have an understanding of the world that the machines created for them, and how reliable is that information once you get outside of the matrix? Second law of thermodynamics? Just machine propaganda!
I'm currently attending the University of Illinois in CHampaign-Urbana, a top rated school in engineering and computer science. I know a person doing interviews for a highly technical company in the area. In the past three months they interviewed over 300 people - mostly BS or Masters in CS from the University of Illinois. They hired only 15, and all of them had ether internships or some sort of experience in the field.
True, without a degree they probably would not get an interview but even with a degree from a highly rated technical school most of these people were useless to this company.
The piece of paper is important, but not as important as experience.

Well, most of us wouldn't...
I wonder if he'll see this post...

"Sacred cows make the best hamburger"
I thought the same thing... Aren't the similiarties between Star Wars and Dune enough already?
Nica having Mara Jade though. She looks familiar, has she been in movies before?
