Isn't this one of the Software packages which has tons of little shortcuts and simpler ways to make code sort of lego block stuff? I am not sure but it seems like it to me when I took a look at it. Perhaps they are protecting their SW-generated code.
Do what the US does to protect the Constitution not too expensive really, just fill a vault with lots of pure nitrogen or helium.... an inch of lead and a couple more inches of steel, hermetically sealed ought to go a long way towards improving those projected life spans.
Well, why not just set up a webserver for the printers you want set up this way? Sounds to me like the whole "standard" is simply going to be that anyway.. But a useful standard would be good. As long as if it's mine I control its remote capabilities.
I like that, how about another thing sorta piggy-backed on that? Why not also allow users to select individuals who they find ususally have comments they want to read, and allow a quick sort by nicknames? That way there would be another level for people to not get lost, besides somebody might be writing a paper on flamebaiters or some such.
Well, I agree we should look into this as a society, however there are pieces of information that not everyone needs to know!!! What if instructions for the ATOM Bomb were public domain... I mean I know this is slightly extreme... but, nonetheless, true... If I come up with a killer Idea, or a program that people will pay tons o money for.... then Whats wrong with me making some cash from that... I feel its morally more right to get paid for ideas than to get paid for stuff. Think about it, manufactured stuff is usually there because someone in a position of power broke subservient people's backs to get their stuff out.
I say that this was a great essay, but it viewed everything from only one angle.
This really, really has to be a mistake or a hoax. Come on, I've read reviews of this book, I suppose if the price is genuine it is a serious "Emperor's New Clothes" gig. Pretty soon, industry analysts and the media are gonna start publicly drooling over it to prove how much they "get it"
