What wright-wing governments are you talking about? In Australia our left-wing Labor (ALP) party has been government since 2007.
There was a period during the right-wing Liberal party days headed by John Howard that saw us following US policy no matter it's consequence. Australians are a lot more cautious in following America's lead now however.
