I've been using Diceware as a way to generate easy to use, and yet fairly secure passphrases and passwords. There are some interesting statistics in the Diceware FAQ, like cracking a 5 word Diceware passphrase is equivalent to cracking a 64.6 bit symetric key using brute force. I doubt you could get a whole organization to use this method (you'd probably get busted for playing craps!), but it's still intriguing.
The Wells-Gardner U3100 is the best of both worlds. It looks like an arcade monitor, but it takes an SVGA input. It can supposedly do up to 1024x768 (interlace), but I've only got 800x600 working. Note that the dot pitch is huge, so using a high resolution on this thing is like using a high resolution on a TV. But MAME looks awesome! I've never tried it under XFree, but I've got it working under DOS with my own Game Launcher menu using both Voodoo 3 and ATI-XPert@Play cards. Given this, you should have little trouble with X. I bought mine from Happ Controls.
My ISPs IMAP server broke. It used the maildir format and got *really* confused with file names like:
% ls -tr | tail
999878615.18243.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999882709.76833.pop.xxx.com:2,RS*
999883989.13343.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999900385.97510.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999906796.21947.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999914926.66179.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999922220.49590.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
999975475.10798.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
1000040737.72591.pop.xxx.com:2,S*
1000062814.85554.pop.xxx.com:2,*
I think it was an old version of uw-imapd with maildir patches.
I wrote a short script to rename all files created before 1,000,000,000 with a leading zero. The resulting file names with "09*" fixed the problem!
