How many times has a cop car without its lights on blow by you doing 90MPH on the freeway? Have you ever seen one of these guys pulled over for speeding?
Well, in Indiana a state trouper pulled over an Indanapolis cop for speed (100+ MPH). He radioed in for help before he pulled over and before the state cops could get him into their car the city boys were their claiming jurisdiction and crap. The cop didn't even get a speeding ticket, let alone the wreckless driving ticket he deserved.
So they do get pulled over, just sometimes it doesn't always go the way it should.

I hate it when people type h4x0r l33t3 and thing things like that instead of using real words. If they were in front of me typing that crap I would break their fingers, you know to teach them not to do that anymore. But some would still type like that because they read at the 3rd grade level and can't spell correctly.
I may finally be able to upgrade/trade in this ABIT BP6 MoBo for something a bit snappier. But the price will have to be reasonable.
We have been waiting since the Athlon was first released for a Dual MoBo to hit the streets. Does this mean that it is going to be a good motherboard since they took so much time to make it right?
This sure sounds alot like an iPaq with a few added features, like USB and such. If they can make it and sell it for sub $200 and have PCMCIA support to add on a IEEE 802.11b PC card, I'll be one of the first ones to buy one. I am looking at an iPaq now to be my remote control for my home automation system, but if I can get something cheaper, then maybe it will be worth while to wait.
WTF are you talking about. Take your stupid FUD and shove it up your ass.
Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.
OpenBSD leader Theo states that there are 7000 users of OpenBSD. How many users of NetBSD are there? Let's see. The number of OpenBSD versus NetBSD posts on Usenet is roughly in ratio of 5 to 1. Therefore there are about 7000/5 = 1400 NetBSD users. BSD/OS posts on Usenet are about half of the volume of NetBSD posts. Therefore there are about 700 users of BSD/OS. A recent article put FreeBSD at about 80 percent of the *BSD market. Therefore there are (7000+1400+700)*4 = 36400 FreeBSD users. This is consistent with the number of FreeBSD Usenet posts.
Due to the troubles of Walnut Creek, abysmal sales and so on, FreeBSD went out of business and was taken over by BSDI who sell another troubled OS.
First of all I don't know whose ass you pulled those numbers out of, but you should put them right back. Secondly, FreeBSD did NOT go out of business, FreeBSD was NOT taken over by BSDI. Its stupid fuckers like you that make this world a worse place to live. I know you are just a troll and I should just ignore you, but I would really like to kick you ass for telling lies.
Whats the point of this thing? I always found that a nice gym bag works great. I can put my keyboard, mouse, and all my cables in it, sling it over my shoulder and carry the computer at the same time. Then go back up for the monitor. Nothing dropped, nothing lost. Its just that for $35 you can get a pretty nice bag that can have more uses that just strapping stuff to your computer case.

Its not just Qwest, its seams to be ALL DSL providers. My boss has been trying to get DSL for the past 3 months. The techs have been to his house 4 times and it still isn't working correctly. For some reason they can't understand that he has an ISDN line and all they have to do is use the second set of lines coming into his house to hook up his DSL. He has tried 2 providers and he still is waiting for them to get it right. But my other boss, got his first time, just lucky I guess.
Well, here in Michigan, Internet 2000 is an ISP that runs FreeBSD. They give you a shell account and will help you setup your dial up service under FreeBSD, if you need help. Just their billing at the time sucked, so I switched. Now I have @home which is unreliable but fast. Well, @home's e-mail servers are unreliable anyways.
I have to question your numbers. If these numbers were true, especailly for FreeBSD, then why does some of the major software chains now carry FreeBSD on their shelves right next to Linux, and Win*?

I can't believe for a second that they would carry software if there are only 36400 users of FreeBSD TOTAL, like you are saying.
In a newspaper or magazine the editors have a responsibility to check their facts before they print them. This responsibility has disappeared with the web. Tucows just got flamed for not checking facts before they posted information. If they would have checked their facts and posted correctly they would not have been flamed at all.
This is why I take EVERYTHING I read on the net as rumor until I can verify it myself. Until there is some accountability, you really can't trust info. on the net.
If Tucows does not want to have to take the time and find out the truth about BSD, and all the flavors, maybe it is just as well that they are taking down bsd.tucows.com. I mean if I was going to choose an OS based on their comments, I wouldn't choose any of the BSD's. But as it is I already have chose, Win2K, BeOS, FreeBSD, and Redhat. I just use the one that performs best for what I need to do.
My current employer required me to sign a non-compete agreement, but I didn't sign it until after I was with him for almost a year. And even then the agreement is more of a "I wont steal your customers like you did to your old employer" agreement. He considers non-competes to be wrong. In his words, "You can't stop a person from making a living, but you can protect your investments." So I am free to work at any competitor I want to when I leave, as long as I don't try to take the customers with me when I leave. The agreement is for 2 years. So after 2 years all customers are open game to me.
I tend to agree with my his opinion that you can't stop a person from making a living. And by enforcing a non-compete agreement on an employee, the employer should have to continue to pay the salary of the employee for the duration of the non-compete agreement. Since they are essentially being told to sit on their ass while the time runs out.
I know it doesn't really work that way, but I wont sign a non-compete that forbids me to work at a competitor unless something like that is in the agreement. Also, I have learned to always ask in the interview if there are any non-compete/NDA's that I am going to have to sign in order to be an employee of this company. And if there are, I ask to see it at that time. If I have concerns, then I can address them BEFORE I burn my bridges at my current job.
